Project Description
Experimental insights on multi-mode combustion
Experimental results from several partially-premixed turbulent flames will be combined with information from simulations to provide insights on the structure of flames in which reaction zones exhibit characteristics of both premixed and nonpremixed combustion.
Robert Barlow has worked at the Combustion Research Facility at Sandia National Laboratories for over thirty years. His research has focused on fundamental aspects of turbulent combustion, emphasizing application of quantitative laser diagnostics for simultaneous multiscalar measurements in flames of gaseous fuels. He is the lead organizer of the TNF Workshop series and a recipient of the Edgerton Gold Medal of the Combustion Institute.
